Certified Neapolitan pizza chef, trained in Naples
Food has been a big part of my life since I was young. It turned into a proper qualification when I certified as a pizzaiolo in Naples, and from there it led to a world championship, Neapolitan kitchens and a food project of my own in Australia.
From the AVPN to the world stage
14th World Pizza Chef Championship
I competed at the 14th World Pizza Chef Championship in Naples, alongside pizzaioli from all over the world, in the city that gave the world pizza.

AVPN pizzaiolo
I’m certified by the Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana, the association that sets the rules for genuine Neapolitan pizza.

A pizza demonstration with Antonino Esposito
I gave a pizza-making demonstration in Sorrento with Antonino Esposito, the maestro pizzaiolo I also worked with at Acqu’ e Sale.

A food tour with Gennaro Contaldo
One of my favourite days in Italy was a food tour of the Amalfi Coast with Gennaro Contaldo, the Minori-born chef many people know from his work with Jamie Oliver.

Where I’ve worked
Pizzeria Trianon
I’ve worked at Pizzeria Trianon, one of the historic pizzerias of Naples.
Eccellenze Campane
I worked alongside pizzaiolo Guglielmo Vuolo at Eccellenze Campane.
Acqu’ e Sale
For a while I worked with Antonino Esposito at Acqu’ e Sale in Sorrento.
Italian Made
A guide to authentic Italian food in Australia
In 2013 Anna Maria De Martino and I started Italian Made, a network that recognised and promoted authentic Italian restaurants, pizzerias, gelaterias, importers and producers across Australia, including AVPN-certified pizzerias.
The project was supported by Gennaro Esposito of Torre del Saracino in Vico Equense, by the AVPN and the APN (Associazione Pizzaiuoli Napoletani) in Naples, and by a number of Italian food importers in Australia.

Ferragosto, Five Dock
I’ve been on stage at Ferragosto, the City of Canada Bay’s Italian festival in Five Dock, for its cooking demonstrations.

“Best of Italy at our door”
The Daily Telegraph covered Italian Made and our work promoting authentic Italian food in Sydney, including the pizzerias certified by the AVPN.

“Italian Made: preserving tradition”
Italianicious, the magazine of Italian culture in Australia, ran a feature on Italian Made and the love of Italian food and tradition behind it.
