Technical SEO Case Study

Bitsler JavaScript, React and indexation SEO

Bitsler was one of my most technically demanding iGaming assignments, with a platform heavily reliant on JavaScript and React and a range of difficult crawling, rendering and indexation problems.

My role

Head of SEO

As Head of SEO for an international crypto casino and sportsbook, my focus was heavily technical: React and JavaScript SEO, rendering, crawl and indexation, Search Console diagnostics, architecture, canonicals, schema and expansion into the US market.

The SEO challenge

The central challenge was not simply whether pages contained the right metadata. It was understanding why important URLs were failing to enter or remain in Google’s index and how client/server rendering behaviour affected what Google could access.

What I worked on

JavaScript rendering

React SEO, client/server behaviour and rendered output

Googlebot accessibility

Understanding what search crawlers could actually retrieve

Indexation diagnostics

Search Console anomalies, canonicalisation and duplicate URLs

Crawl paths

Internal linking, discovery and site architecture

Schema & metadata

Structured data and scalable on-page signals

Engineering delivery

Direct collaboration with developers and validation after deployment

Results and impact

The project strengthened my approach to difficult technical SEO investigations: reverse-engineer the system-level cause, translate it into engineering requirements and validate the implementation after release.

This was hands-on Head of SEO work in a technically complex international gambling environment.
